Dock B

UX/UI & Graphic Design

In 2011 the observation deck of Dock B at the Zurich Airport received a total makeover, transforming the terrace on the roof into an 250 m long open-air exhibition space. Various media installations and exhibits were installed, supplying interesting facts about the airport and flight operations.

At four points, visitors can use »Airport Scopes« to get an enhanced view on the functionality of the airport. By looking through the scopes, the visitors sees the real environment augmented with virtual tags and detail information on various airport buildings and airplanes that roll by.

Provided on glass panels, »Analogue Augmentations« allowing insights into the airport operations by explaining the functionality of the different facility buildings surrounding the airfield.
